Friday Specials –
What is our time worth? The continuing discussion of women’s work is discouraging.
We have accepted that there is not enough money to compensate women.
Not even minimally. Having that as the premise, no dollar amount makes sense.
There have been attempts to quantify this by men. They are usually economists. They tend to have big titles and big institutions behind them. The value amount is always astronomical when itemized: cooking, vacuuming, ironing, etc. I would be on welfare or instutionalized as an unproductive person if they were not laughing..
There was one category that surprised me. ARTIST. I took a quick survey of artists.
Will you spend five minutes answering a few question? Do you see a surge in your income as an artist? If answer is no, when do you expect this to change? You can not say never.
Why is this today’s topic?
I spent hours this week updating my marketing strategy. The computer was not friendly. Passwords were rejected. I was accused of hacking into my own sites.
How do you bill for a less than satisfactory work day? Tomorrow it is back to paying chores for me.
